Rat neonatal hearts were dissociated using the Neonatal Heart Dissociation Kit, mouse and rat (# 130-098-373) in combination with the gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters. Subsequently, neonatal cardiac fibroblasts were isolated using the Cardiac Fibroblast Isolation Kit, rat and cultured in DMEM medium with 10 FBS and 100 U/mL penicillin/100 U/mL streptomycin for 1 day.
