The Quadromacs Seperation unit is used to seperate CD4+ T cells from lymph nodes and spleens of immunized mice.
Our lab routinely works with different cell populations isolated from human PBMCs. Since our autoMACS broke we have been using this magnet for all of our cell separations. We have only used it with Miltenyi Biotec beads. It is easy to use and works great.
Our lab studies the mTOR signaling pathway in T cell differentiation with an emphasis on both CD4 and CD8 T cells. We routinely conduct T cell experiments to analyze the differentiation process into subsets or adoptive transfers. In order to obtain purified T cell populations without sorting, we use the Miltenyi isolation kits and magnet to obtain the populations of interest.
Our lab wants a clean CD8+ or CD4+ population that we can use for in-vitro assays. Therefore, we use this magnet for our isolations. It is sturdy and efficient.
As an immunology lab, we perform many antibody bead-based cell separations using the Miltenyi Bio isolation kits. Using these kits requires a magnet since it requires magnetic columns (LS) to enrich for cells of interest. This magnet is optimized for certain columns for a total of four samples at once.
