Background information

CD115 is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, osteoclasts, as well as on common dendritic cell precursors and macrophage/dendritic cell precursors. CD115 has been proposed as a marker for the standardized identification and analysis of mouse monocytes.

Detailed separation procedure

In order to avoid non-specific binding of the antibody, the single-cell suspension is pre-incubated with FcR Blocking Reagent. Target cells are then labeled with a biotinylated CD115 antibody. Subsequently, CD115
+
cells are magnetically labeled with Anti-Biotin MicroBeads. After the separation over a MACS Column, the CD115
+
cells are eluted as the positive fraction.

cells , e.g. from bone marrow, can be used for
in vitro
analysis, differentiation studies, co-culture, or adoptive transfer experiments.
