Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated TGF-β RII (REA903) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Overview

Clone REA903 recognizes the human transforming growth receptor beta 2 (TGF-β RII) antigen, a single-pass transmembrane protein belonging to the superfamily of serine/threonine kinase receptors. Members of this family bind different TGF-β cytokines (TGF-β1, TGF-β2, TGF-β3) and other growth factors and cytokine signaling proteins. The association between TGF-β RII and TGF-β2 phosphorylates proteins, that regulate the transcription of a subset of genes related to cell proliferation in the nucleus.
Additional information: Clone REA903 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
