To provide an indication on how an antibody performs after fixation of cells, in-house data on staining results before and after fixation with 3.7% formaldehyde using Miltenyi Biotec antibodies are provided. Different experimental settings may lead to different results.

Overview

Clone REAL349 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD49c antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAlease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL349 recognizes the human CD49c antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein also known as integrin α3 (ITGA3) or VLA-3α. CD49c forms a heterodimer with integrin β1 (α3β1, CD49c/CD29, VLA-3) and plays a role in neural migration and corticogenesis, acted upon by such factors as netrin-1 and reelin. It is expressed by many types of adhesion cells, such as endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and dermal fibroblasts. Weak expression has been reported on leukocytes. CD49c/CD29 plays a role in cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion through binding fibronectin, laminin, collagen, epiligrin, thrombospondin, and CSPG4.
The REAlease Kits consist of the respective fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes and the REAlease Support Kit for removal of the REAlease Complexes and optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes.
