Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated CD3ε (145-2C11) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Overview

Clone 145-2C11 specifically recognizes the ε subunit of the mouse CD3 antigen. CD3 is a 20 kDa transmembrane protein and is part of the TCR complex. Along with the γ and δ subunits of CD3, the ε chain is required for proper assembly and expression of the TCR complex. CD3ε is expressed on thymocytes, mature T lymphocytes, and NKT cells.
Antibody clone 145-2C11 can be used for T cell activation and expansion.
