Background information

The CD33 antigen is prominently expressed on myeloid progenitor cells and monocytes, whereas low-level expression is observed on peripheral granulocytes, dendritic cells, and tissue macrophages. It is not expressed on lymphocytes, platelets, erythrocytes, and primitive hematopoietic stem cells.

Anticoagulated cell samples of 0.25–15 mL are labeled with StraightFrom
®
Whole Blood CD33 MicroBeads to be subsequently separated with the autoMACS® Pro Separator, the MultiMACS™ Cell24 Separator Plus, or using the Whole Blood Column Kit.
