Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated CD62L (MEL14-H2.100) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Overview

Clone MEL14-H2.100 recognizes mouse CD62L, a member of the selectin family of cell adhesion molecules also know as L-selectin. CD62L is important for the homing of lymphocytes to peripheral lymph nodes through high endothelial venules. It also contributes to leukocyte emigration into acute inflammatory sites. CD62L is a glycoprotein expressed on the cell surface of most thymocytes, T cells, B cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, neutrophils, and eosinophils. It is highly expressed on naive T cells and down-regulated upon differentiation due to activation-dependent shedding. CD62L is also expressed on a subset of CCR7
