Clone REA721 recognizes the mouse interleukin 22 (IL-22) antigen, also known as IL-TIF. IL-22 is α-helical cytokine which is a member of the IL-10 cytokine family. It is produced by immune cells, including activated dendritic cells, T cells, and NK cells. The biological activity of IL-22 is initiated by binding to a cell-surface complex composed of IL-22R1 and IL-10R2 receptor chains. It initiates immune responses against bacterial pathogens especially in epithelial cells.
Additional information: Clone REA721 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
