Anti-O4 MicroBeads, human, mouse, rat

Anti-O4 MicroBeads have been developed for the positive selection or depletion of O4
immature oligodendrocytes from single-cell suspensions. Anti-O4 Microbeads can be used with human, mouse or rat sample material.

Background information

During oligodendrocyte development, late A2B5
oligodendrocyte progenitors start to express O4. As the cells differentiate, A2B5 expression ceases, whereas O4 expression persists. More mature cells start to synthesize galactocerebroside, MBP, PLP, MOG, and O1. In the peripheral nervous system, O4 expression is found on Schwann cells. Dissociated mouse brain tissue derived from P3–7 CD1 mice contains approximately 5–10% O4
For the most efficient isolation of O4
cells, P3–7 (postnatal day 3–7) rodents are recommended.


For positive selection: MS, LS, or autoMACS
