Cytocapture H500-100 products have been designed for high resolution and life cell imaging applications of cellular spheroids. This type of microcavities has the Low Cell Adhesion (LCA) coating. They may be used for applications like:
  • Controlled formation and investigation of cellular spheroids
  • Sensitive fluorescence analysis (FRET, FRAP, FLIM)
  • Cell signaling studies, cell-cell Interaction and communication studies
  • Time lapse video microscopy
  • Individual cell characterization and spheroid picking
The CytoCapture S500-100, LCA products are designed for cell based assays and high resolution life cell imaging of cell spheroids. A uniform array of square type polymer cavities lays on top of the cover glass bottoms of these specialized cell culture and imaging consumables. Individual cavities have a distance from surrounding wall to wall of 500 µm. The wall thickness Is 15 µm. Height of the walls Is 100 µm. The walls of the cavities errect straight upright from the bottom (F-shape). Seeded cells sediment spontaneously inside the microcavities. The microcavities are coated with a Low Cell Adhesion (LCA) surface. The geometry of the cavities allows groups of cells to enter. Because cell adhesion to the surfaces is suppressed the cells form spontaneously spheroids. Within these cavities the spheroids are protected from general fluid convection within the cell culture consumable. The microcavities allow that the spheroids can be tracked over days without major change of their position. The microcavities allow also a better size control and homogenous size distribution of the spheroids.
