Field Application Scientist - Clinical - Bay Area

Your tasks

As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec North America Clinical Team, you will work independently and in partnership with the Clinical Applications Managers to support clinically oriented cell therapy laboratories and biopharma companies.

  • Perform demonstrations of CliniMACS® Prodigy & Plus Instruments
  • Showcase Miltenyi cell and gene therapy manufacturing processes including CAR-T, antigen-specific T cell, NK and HSC processes
  • Assist in scoping out, documenting, and developing custom applications to fit unique customer needs
  • Perform trainings at customer sites, assist in development and refinement of training SOPs, with a focus on customer satisfaction to optimize success
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through assisting with process development and troubleshooting
  • Help new team members develop key competencies, share best practices
  • Work with sales team to support activities such as technical seminars and conferences
  • Maintain relationships with key customers, and participate actively as a team player in key account plans
  • Facilitate adoption of products in clinical applications by working within appropriate regulatory frameworks and with the support of regulatory affairs 

Your profile

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a life science discipline
  • Four (4) years of experience in clinical cell processing or applications involving clinical devices
  • Familiarity with basic computer logic concepts and project management software
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a life sciences or medical technology discipline
  • Experience processing bone marrow or apheresis products on a CliniMACS Plus or Prodigy instrument
  • Prior experience in support of a regulated medical device is desired, and your technical expertise includes experience in clinical immunology, cellular therapy, or blood banking/processing
  • Experienced in laboratory instrument programming, development and testing of applications
  • Project management and documentation expertise
