Background information

The MC CD34/CD133 Stem Cell Cocktail consists of two components: the CD34/CD133 cocktail and a control cocktail. Whereas the CD34/CD133 cocktail includes CD133, CD34, and CD45 antibodies for optimal identification of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, the control cocktail additionally contains excess unconjugated CD133 antibody to block the staining of CD133
+
cells. Thus, false positive events are reliably identified and excluded from the analysis. In addition, CD45-VioBlue is included in both cocktails as a trigger to restrict analysis to leukocytes. The CD45-VioBlue antibody recognizes a different epitope than the CD45-FITC antibody. VioBlue requires the use of a violet laser for flow cytometric detection.
