Clone REA205 recognizes the CD159c antigen, a calcium-dependent (C-type) lectin, which is also known as NKG2C type II integral membrane protein or KLRC2. CD159c heterodimerizes with CD94 to form a complex that recognizes HLA-E as ligand. Clone REA205 detects the human CD159c/CD94 heterodimer and does not cross-react with the human CD159a/CD94 heterodimer or with the human CD94 homodimer. Specificity

In order to compare the epitope specificity of REAfinity Clone REA205 with other known clones, a competition assay was performed. 
 Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated REAfinity Antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.
