Overview

Clone REAL981 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Claudin-18 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL981 recognizes the human and mouse Claudin-18 protein, encoded by the CLDN18 gene and belonging to the claudin family. Claudins are epithelial membrane proteins (EMPs) that regulate the permeability and cell polarity of epithelia cells. It is expressedlung in lung alveolar epithelium, at low levels in airway epithelium, but not expressed in lung endothelium. The CLDN18 gene is upregulated in patients with ulcerative colitis and highly overexpressed in infiltrating ductal adenocarcinomas.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
