Specificity

Knockout validation

Overview

Clone REA194 recognizes CD318, a type I transmembrane protein which is also known as CUB domain-containing protein 1 (CDCP1) or SIMA135. CD318 has an approximate molecular weight of 93 kDa and contains an extracellular domain with three regions with low homology to complement protein subcomponents C1r/C1s, urchin embryonic growth factor, and bone morphogenetic protein 1 (CUB) domains. CD318 has been suggested to be an interacting partner of Src family kinase and protein kinase Cδ. It has been shown that CD318 plays a role in cancer progression and the development of metastases. CD318 expression is found widely in normal tissues, whereas an aberrant overexpression is suggested to be associated with tumor cells.
Additional information: Clone REA194 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
