Mouse IL-2 Secretion Assay – Detection Kits

The IL-2 Secretion Assay was developed for the sensitive detection of mouse IL-2-secreting cells.

Background information

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a T cell-derived cytokine known to promote growth and differentiation of T cells and has pleiotropic effects on many other leukocytes. IL-2 is rapidly secreted upon activation by naive T helper cells and certain subsets of memory T cells.

Downstream applications

The Mouse IL-2 Secretion Assay was used to study the sequential production of cytokines by T helper lymphocytes.
The Mouse IL-2 Secretion Assay was also used for isolation and analysis of IL-2-secreting NKT cells after stimulation with glycolipids.
Furthermore, the IL-2 Secretion Assays has been used as a highly sensitive read-out system for peptide-specific T cells in TCR transgenic mice.
T cell suppression by CD4
regulatory T cells has been analyzed with the IL-2 Secretion Assay by coculturing responder T cells with regulatory T cells (distinguished by Thy1.1 and Thy1.2 expression) followed by cytokine detection and costaining with Thy1.1.
