Clone REA154 recognizes murine dectin-1, which is approximately 40 kDa type II transmembrane protein, also known as mouse beta-glucan receptor or CLEC7A. It promotes the phagocytosis of intact yeasts and glucan particles such as β-1,3-linked and β-1,6-glucans, thus playing an important role in anti-fungal immunity. Neutrophils and macrophages express relatively higher levels of dectin-1 as compared to dendritic cells and subpopulation of T cells. In cooperation with TLR2 and TLR4, dectin-1 leads to cytokine production in human macrophages and monocytes.
Additional information: Clone REA154 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
