Clone REAL168 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Anti-TIM-3 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAlease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL168 recognizes the mouse TIM-3 antigen, which is a Tʜ1-specific cell surface protein expressed by differentiated CD4
+
Tʜ1 and CD8
+
Tc1 cells and macrophages. It is absent on CD4
+
Tʜ2 and CD8
+
Tc2 cells. TIM-3 has been proposed to inhibit Tʜ1-mediated immune responses. TIM-3 absence enhances the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in mice. The interaction of TIM-3 and galectin-9 induces apoptosis of Tʜ1 cells.
The REAlease Kits consist of the respective fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes and the REAlease Support Kit for removal of the REAlease Complexes and optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes.
