Specifications for Metallothionein Antibody, anti-human, REAdye_lease™

Overview

Clone REAL639 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Anti-Metallothionein antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL639 recognizes the human Metallothionein, a cytoplasmatic protein, which has a high content of cysteine and no aromatic amino acids. Metallothionein is able to bind and sequestrate heavy metal ions and is transcriptionally regulated by heavy metals, glucocorticoids, interferon, lymphokines and stress. The isoforms of Metallothionein MT I and MT II have the ability to scavenge free radicals and play a role in carcinogenesis. Overexpression is found in cancers, e.g. different carcinomas and melanoma.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
