Extended validation for CD158e/k (KIR3DL1/DL2) Antibody, anti-human

Specificity

Epitope competition
In order to compare the epitope specificity of an antibody, the clone being used is compared with other known clones recognizing the same antigen in a competition assay.
Other clonesOverlap in epitope recognition with 5.133
REA1005n/a

REA970++
Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated CD158e/k (KIR3DL1/DL2) (5.133) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Specifications for CD158e/k (KIR3DL1/DL2) Antibody, anti-human

Overview

Clone 5.133 reacts with CD158e (KIR3DL1) and CD158k (KIR3DL2), members of the killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) family which recognizes subsets of HLA alleles. The family of killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) contributes to the regulation of NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Expression is found mainly on CD56
dim
CD16
+
natural killer (NK) cells but also on a subset of CD8
+
T cells. They are monomeric receptors possessing high allelic polymorphism with either 2 or 3 Ig-like extracellular domains. According to the length of their cytoplasmic tail, KIRs can be subdivided in inhibitory KIRs and activating KIRs.

CD158e/k (KIR3DL1/DL2)-PE-Vio770, human (130-099-958)

Our laboratory investigates different ways to improve immune responses against HIV, including enhancement of NK mediated ADCC activity. We tested this antibody to use for staining of NK cells as CD158 is mostly expressed on NK cells.

CD158e/k (KIR3DL1/DL2)-PE-Vio770, human (130-099-958)

Our lab is interested in the protective role of NK cells towards acute HIV infection. We have developed in vitro assays to study their role in killing HIV infected cells, and we examine their cytokine and KIR receptor expression via flow cytometry.
