Clone REAL1137 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Arginase-1 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL1137 recognizes the isoenzyme Arginase-1, also known as ARG1, which is a member of the ureohydrolase family of enzymes. Arginase-1 converts L-arginine into L-ornithine and urea, which is then converted to polyamine. This process takes place primarily in the liver and, to a lesser extent, in the kidneys. Arginase -1 is also expressed in granulocytes, neural stem cells, and in myeloid derived suppressor cells (MDSC) and plays a role in the antimicrobial effector pathway in polymorphonuclear granulocytes. Mutations, which cause Arginase deficiency, can lead to defects in the urea cycle with hyperammonaemia. Arginase-1 is reported to be expressed in colorectal cancer and is found in the majority of hepatocellular carcinomas.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
