Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated CD45.1 (REA1179) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Overview

Clone REA1179 recognizes the mouse CD45.1 alloantigen of CD45, a membrane glycoprotein also known as leukocyte common antigen or Ly-5. CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in mouse strains SJL/J, STS/A, RIII, and DA. CD45 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family and is involved in the regulation of T and B cell antigen receptor signaling. Clone REA1179 does not react with the CD45.2 alloantigen expressed by most mouse strains.
Additional information: Clone REA1179 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
