The Mouse IL-4 Secretion Assay -Cell Enrichment and Detection Kit was developed for the sensitive detection as well as the enrichment of murine IL-4-secreting cells.

Background information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is predominantly secreted by activated CD4
memory and effector T
2 cells, basophils, and mast cells. It induces and supports humoral immune responses for the neutralization of extracellular pathogens. The T2 types of immune mechanisms can also be involved in immunologic disorders such as IgE-mediated allergy.

Downstream applications

The assays have been used for research on T
2 development and commitment
and to investigate the regulation of IL-4 expression
. The Mouse IL-4 Secretion Assay was also used for isolation and analysis of IL-4-secreting NKT cells after stimulation with glycolipids.
