Specifications for Anti-IgD antibodies


IgD26 recognizes human IgD, a monomeric antibody with two heavy chains of the δ class and two Ig light chains. It is expressed by B cells and co-expressed with IgM on the surface of mature and naive B cells. It is also produced in a secreted form that is found in very small amounts in blood serum.


Reagent can be used for immunophenotyping by flow cytometry. Abnormal numbers of cells expressing this antigen or aberrant expression levels of the antigen can be expected in some disease states. It is important to understand the normal expression pattern for this antigen and its relationship to expression of other relevant antigens in order to perform appropriate analysis.
Expression of IgD may be used as aid to diagnostic in the characterization of samples from individuals suspected with hematologic neoplasia.
