Clone REA536 recognizes the mouse T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains (TIGIT) antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein which is also known as V-set and transmembrane domain-containing protein 3 (Vstm3). TIGIT belongs to a PVR family of type 1 proteins that also binds to CD155 and CD112 ligands. It is expressed on peripheral memory and regulatory CD4
T cells and NK cells and is upregulated following activation on naive CD4
T cells. Its interaction with CD155 induces tolerogenic dendritic cells that impaire T cell proliferation and inhibit IFN-γ production from responding T cells. Like the well-characterized CD28/CTLA-4 costimulatory pathway, a newly emerging pathway consisting of CD226 and TIGIT has been associated with susceptibility to multiple autoimmune diseases.
Additional information: Clone REA536 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
