StraightFrom® Whole Blood MicroBeads enable magnetic cell separation directly from whole blood. Leukocyte subsets such as CD4+, CD8+, CD14+, CD19+, or CD56+ cells can be purified using either cell separation instruments or manual separators. Pre-enrichment of white blood cells, e.g. by density gradient centrifugation, is not required. The purified cells are well-suited for further flow cytometric analyses, molecular biology applications, and functional studies.

StraightFrom Whole Blood MicroBead Kits are suited for the separation of leukocyte subsets directly from anticoagulated human whole blood.

The MicroBeads are added directly to the whole blood sample without any prior cell counting or PBMC isolation. Leukocytes can thereby be isolated straightforward within minutes without the need for density gradient centrifugation.

Automated cell isolation

In contrast to manual separation using MACS Separators, cell separation from whole blood can also be performed using the autoMACS® Pro Separator for walk-away automation, or the MultiMACS Cell24 Separator Plus for semi-automated separation. Both instruments allow processing of high sample volumes or numbers and provide convenient and easy sample handling. This improves reliability and reproducibility in day-to-day cell separation.

For large-scale cell separations, the MultiMACS X is the instrument of choice.

CD3+ cells can be isolated straight from a whole blood sample using the StraightFrom® Whole Blood CD3 MicroBeads, human and the MultiMACS™ Cell24 Separator Plus.

Separation of a whole blood sample using the StraightFrom® Whole Blood CD3 MicroBeads, human and the MultiMACS™ Cell24 Separator Plus with the Single-Column Adapter and Whole Blood Columns without washing step after labeling.
