Extended validation for CD63 Antibody, anti-human

Epitope competition
In order to compare the epitope specificity of an antibody, the clone being used is compared with other known clones recognizing the same antigen in a competition assay.
Other clonesOverlap in epitope recognition with H5C6
Cells were incubated with an excess of purified unconjugated CD63 (H5C6) antibody followed by staining with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies of other known clones against the same marker. Based on the fluorescence signal obtained, the clones were identified as recognizing completely overlapping (++), partially overlapping (+), or completely different epitopes (-) of the marker.

Specifications for CD63 Antibody, anti-human

Clone H5C6 recognizes CD63, a type III glycoprotein. CD63 belongs to the tetraspanin family of proteins, which are characterized by four membrane spanning domains. Tetraspanins via various homotypic and heterotypic interactions regulate the spatial location and trafficking of associated transmembrane partners, eventually regulating and co-ordinating various signaling pathways. CD63, like other tetraspanins, is present in the plasma membrane and membrane of various subcellular compartments such as late endosomes, lysososmes, cytotoxic granules of T lymphocytes, the crystalloid granules of eosinophils, the secretory granules of basophils and mast cells. Interaction partners of CD63 include MHC class II molecules in immature dendritic cells and B lymphocytes, FcεRI in basophils and mast cells, etc.
