Overview

Clone REAL538 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Cytokeratin 5/6 antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL538 recognizes the human Cytokeratin 5/6, belonging to the basic or neutral type II cytokeratins. Cytokeratins, which are found in almost all epithelial cells, are polypeptides with keratin-containing intermediate filaments, which ensure form stability and cohesiveness. Cytokeratin 6 is located in proliferating squamous epithelium, whereas Cytokeratin 5 is found in the basal, the intermediate and the superficial cell layers of stratified and transitional epithelia, complex epithelia, and in mesothelial cells and mesothelioma, but not in simple epithelia and in non-epithelial cells.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
