Recent developments in neuroscience have been complemented by concomitant advances in stem cell research, especially in the fields of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's research. Flow cytometry has played a significant role in these developments and is routinely used in the characterization of neural stem cells, progenitors cells and the different functional cell types within the brain. The MACSQuant Analyzer assays for Neuroscience include:
- Neural stem cell and progenitor cell characterization
- Identification and characterization of different neurons (Cholinergic, Dopaminergic, etc)
- Identification and characterization of astrocytes and glial cells
- Monitoring cellular viability, apoptosis and cell cycle
