Isolating cells using MACS® Technology is quick, simple, and straightforward.
MACS Technology is based on three components:
- MACS MicroBeads – superparamagnetic particles conjugated to a highly specific, monoclonal antibody against a cell surface antigen.
- MACS Columns – contain a matrix composed of ferromagnetic spheres covered with a cell-friendly coating
- MACS Separators – contain powerful permanent magnets that induce a high-gradient magnetic field within MACS Columns – a field strong enough to retain cells labeled with even small amounts of MACS MicroBeads
Once you have a single-cell suspension of cells, simply incubate them with our MicroBeads, pass them over a MACS Column in the magnetic field of a MACS Separator, and elute the cell populations of interest. It couldn’t be easier.
