Systemic lupus erythematosus

The treatment of Systemic lupus erythematosus has already been evaluated using the CliniMACS® and TheraSorb™ Therapeutic Apheresis targeting either the humoral or the cellular immune response:
- By autologous CD34+ stem cell transplantation: Patients were treated with myeloablative chemotherapy followed by CD34+ selected stem cell transplantation. A CliniMACS® CD34+ cell enrichment of the stem cells was performed with the aim to reduce potentially autoreactive cells in the graft.
- By removal of plasma immunoglobulins with immunoadsorption using the TheraSorb™ Ig Adsorber
