Key Account Manager

Your tasks

As a member of the UK sales team, reporting to the Sales Manager, you are responsible for the distribution of research and clinical products for selected Biotech and Pharma Accounts.

As the single point of contact for all sales related questions of these accounts, you will be in charge of the:

  • Full budget responsibility for consumables and instruments sales in specified key account sales territory
  • Comprehensive account management as point person for all areas of the specified accounts , e.g. scientific and technical personnel, purchasing officers, key decision makers, etc…
  • Customer care in all products and sales-related questions
    • Acquisition of new customers within you accounts
    • Taking care of existing customers relationship
    • Introduction of new products and after sales support
    • Seminars, on-site trade-shows, as well as instrument demonstrations
    • Development, execution and coordination of customer specific activities and projects. Targeted utilization of internal resources (e.g. application specialists, marketing, R&D, BD, sales management)
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Strategic account development:
    • Account-mapping & development of individual account plans
    • Development and implementation of strategies in order to achieve mid- and long-term goals
  • Regular update of accounts structure and activities in CRM system
  • Timely compilation of forecasts and account specific action plans

Your profile

  • University degree in natural/life science or biomedical sciences
  • Ph.D. is a strong asset/MBA a plus
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills
  • Flexibility and high willingness to travel
  • High degree of self-organization
  • Beyond your background, your personality will make the difference.
  • 5 years of successful experience in sales and /or marketing within the biomedical market, preferably with Key Accounts in Biotech and Pharma.
