| Overview |
| Mouse CD5 (Ly-1) MicroBeads can be used for the positive selection or depletion of CD5+ B-1a cells or T cells from peripheral lymphoid organs, non-lymphoid tissue or blood. |
| Details |
Background information The CD5 antigen is expressed on B-1a cells but not on conventional B-2 cells. B-1 cells differ from B-2 cells with regard to origin, development, and tissue distribution and show an antigen-restricted B cell receptor repertoire. CD5 is also highly expressed on T cells.
Applications For the isolation of highly pure B-1a cells by positive selection using CD5 MicroBeads, T cells have to be depleted in advance by using CD90.2 MicroBeads. CD5 MicroBeads can also be used for the positive selection of T cells and subsequent analysis of cytokine secretion kinetics during T cell differentiation. |
