| Stemgent® Oct4-neo MEF (P2) |
|
| Description |
| Stemgent® Oct4-neo mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEF) harbor a neomycin resistance gene downstream of exon 5 of the endogenous Oct4 gene. Upon successful reprogramming of Stemgent® Oct4-neo MEFs, the neo gene will be expressed in the resulting induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. Use of neomycin (or G418) during reprogramming aids in the selection of iPS cell colonies by eliminating partially reprogrammed MEFs. The establishment of neomycin-resistant colonies can be used as an indicator of successful reprogramming. Stemgent scientists have demonstrated iPS cell generation from the Stemgent® Oct4-neo MEFs. |
