| Description |
| The Stemgent® Phycoerythrin (PE) Rat anti-Human SSEA-3 Antibody was screened on human embryonic stem (ES) cells using flow cytometry (FC) and selected as the best stem cell-verified PE conjugated anti-SSEA-3 antibody available for identifying, characterizing, and monitoring pluripotency of human ES cells. The MC-631 monoclonal antibody binds to stage-specific embryonic antigen-3 (SSEA-3), a carbohydrate epitope on the major ganglioside, which is present at specific stages during mouse preimplantation embryogenesis. SSEA-3 is expressed on the surface of human teratocarcinoma cells, human embryonic germ (EG) cells, and human ES cells. SSEA-3 is a widely accepted pluripotency marker for human ES cells and is downregulated upon differentiation1-3. |
