miRXplore™ Universal Reference
miRXplore™ Universal Reference for microRNA research
The miRXplore™ Universal Reference pool was developed to meet microRNA researchers’ demand for a reliable, comprehensive microRNA reference tool. Thus, the miRXplore Universal Reference is an equimolar pool of more than 950 single-stranded synthetic RNA oligonucleotides matching mature microRNAs2.

For microRNA microarray experiments, the miRXplore Universal Reference can be used as a:
• Reference
• Hybridization control
• Quality control for microarrays
• Positive control for microRNA cloning experiments
• Absolute quantification of microRNAs1

Also, the reference can be used for real-time PCR applications, for example, as positive control and quantification tool1+2.
Usage of miRXplore Universal Reference
Comparison of multiple samples
The miRXplore Universal Reference can be used to compare multiple samples and can help to save sample material. The reference comprises all human, mouse, rat, and virus microRNAs according to the miRBase Sequence Database version 9.2 released by the Sanger Institute3.
Features of miRXplore Universal Reference
• The miRXplore UR is available in two product formats containing either 25 or 125 fmol per microRNA.
• Unmodified, HPLC-purified synthetic RNA oligonucleotides that were controlled by mass spectroscopy and PAGE analysis. Concentration of each oligonucleotide was measured by at least two methods before adding equimolar amounts (5 fmol).
