Background information
Clone 9E2 recognizes the CD335 (NKp46) antigen, a 46 kDa Type I membrane glycoprotein, which is found exclusively on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells.¹ CD335 (NKp46) is a member of the natural cytotoxicity receptors (NCRs) that also include CD336 (NKp44) and CD337 (NKp30), which are responsible for NK cell activation in the process of natural cytotoxicity.²
This antibody has been shown to stimulate NK cells. Activity was determined by measurement of IFN-γ secretion of human NK cells. Furthermore, the CD335 antibody, clone 9E2, was reported to mediate redirected NK cell cytotoxicity.³ |
