| IL-12 Secretion Assay – Cell Enrichment and Detection Kit |
|
| Description |
| The IL-12 Secretion Assay - Cell Enrichment and Detection Kit was developed for the sensitive detection and as well as the enrichment of human cells secreting the p70 subunit of IL-12. |
| Details |
Background information Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a 70-75 kDa heterodimeric cytokine composed of a 40 kDa heavy chain and a 35 kDa light chain. It is mainly produced by monocytes and macrophages, as well as dendritic cells primarily in response to stimulation with bacterial or viral antigens. IL-12 displays various effects on both NK and T cells, playing an essential role in the interaction between innate and adaptive immunity. |

| Figure 1 |
| Human PBMCs depleted of CD14+ cells were stimulated for 4 hours with LPS (10 ng/ml) and for 2 hours with R-848 (2.5 μg/ml), or left untreated. The stimulated and unstimulated cells were stained and isolated according to the secretion of IL-12 using the IL-12 Secretion Assay - Cell Enrichment and Detection Kit. Additionally, cells were stained with CD11c-APC. |
