| IL-10 Secretion Assays - Detection Kits |
|
| Description |
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is predominantly secreted by human CD4+ T cells and antigen-presenting cells, such as monocytes/macrophages and dendritic cells. IL-10 has important suppressive functions on immune responses and is believed to be involved in the maintenance of tolerance. IL-10 blocks activation of cytokine synthesis by TH1 cells, activated monocytes, and NK cells. It can stimulate the immunoglobulin production by B cells.
The IL-10 Secretion Assays enable the sensitive detection of human IL-10-secreting cells. |
| Applications |
IL-10 Secretion Assays were used to analyze IL-10-secreting, CMV-specific CD4+ T cells after stimulation with CMV lysate.
The IL-10 Secretion Assay was also used to analyze and isolate IL-10 secretion by allergen-specific T cells.1,2
The IL-10 Secretion Assay - Detection Kits can be used for two-color cytokine analysis. |

| Figure 1 |
| PBMCs from a CMV+ donor were stimulated with CMV-lysate. The responding cells were stained for co-expression of cytokines using the IL-10 Secretion Assay - Detection Kit (PE) and IL-2 Secretion Assay - Detection Kit (APC). The plots show IL-10 and IL-2 secretion by viable CD4+ T cells. |
