microRNA expression profiling services
Trusted, cost-effective, and fast miRNA profiling services are offered by the scientists of Miltenyi Biotec’s Genomics Services Department based on the miRXplore™ Microarrays.
The following services are available:
• miRXplore™ Microarray Service
In this two color service both samples and controls sent in by the researcher are hybridized on individual miRXplore Microarrays. Here, one total RNA isolation as well as one labeling raction per provided experimental material is included.
• miRXplore Microarray Universal Reference Service (UR)
For this service, the miRXplore Universal Reference, a synthetic miRNA pool, is used. Samples as well as controls are hybridized versus the miRXplore Universal Reference, on individual microarrays. Subsequently, re-ratios are calculated to compare samples versus control; thus, saving sample material. This service can be used if multiple samples have to be compared. |

The microRNA expression profiling service includes:
– Expert advice for experimental design
– Isolation of total RNA
– Labeling
– Hybridization to miRXplore Microarrays
– Readout and primary data analysis
– Documentation of all relevant data on CD-ROM in an extensive written report
– For miRXplore Universal Reference Service only: re-ratio calculation of data
Control of samples and service steps
All service steps are carefully monitored and samples are subjected to thorough quality control to ensure optimal experimental results. For reliable miRNA expression profiling 2–5 µg of total RNA per sample is needed.
Order confirmation and shipment instructions
Having placed an order, the customer has to complete the Service Order Confirmation Form, which also includes instructions for sample preparation and shipment. Results will be sent out in an extensive written report within an average of two to three weeks. |
| Data Analysis |
Re-ratio calculation of experimental data
By calculating the ratio of signals from sample versus reference over the ratio of control versus reference, the resulting so-called re-ratio reflects indirectly the ratio of sample versus control. Thus, the amount of necessary sample material can be reduced if multiple samples need to be compared.
Bioinformatics Services
Experienced bioinformatics specialists at Miltenyi Biotec perform expression analysis; thus, linking experimental data and biological interpretation. |
