CD6
Description
Clone M-T411 recognizes the human CD6 antigen and cross-reacts with a subset of cells from rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta) and cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis) PBMCs.
CD6 functions as an adhesion molecule as well as costimulatory molecule for T cell receptor–mediated T cell activation. CD6 is expressed on the majority of human T cells as well as on a subset of human B cells in peripheral blood. The human CD6 antigen is also expressed at low levels on immature thymocytes and at high levels on mature thymocytes.
Applications
The CD6 antibody can be used to identify and enumerate CD6+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.
