| Description |
The CD3 antibody is specific for the epsilon chain of mouse CD3, a subunit of the TCR complex. It is expressed on thymocytes, mature T lymphocytes, and NKT cells. Clone 145-2C11 has been shown to activate T cell function. Activation and proliferation of T cells can be induced by interaction of the T cell receptor with peptide-MHC complexes expressed on the surface of APCs. The T cell receives a signal transduced through the CD3 complex. Cytokines or other costimulatory signals from accessory cells are required in addition. Activated T cells can be used for any downstream processes, such as cytokine analysis or immunoprecipitation. Cells can also be transfected with high efficiency. |
| Applications |
| The antibody is suitable for in vitro T cell activation and expansion. T cells can be activated using the pure antibody alone or in combination with CD28 antibodies. CD3ε-Biotin can be used in combination with CD28-Biotin and Anti-Biotin MACSiBead™ Particles for activation and expansion of T cells. The antibody is free of azide and preservatives. Endotoxin level is <0.01 ng/µg protein as tested by LAL assay. |
