Description
Clone MB9-3G8 specifically recognizes the mouse Prominin-1 antigen, a 115–120 kDa 5-transmembrane glycoprotein with close structural similarity to its human ortholog, CD133. Prominin-1 is expressed on neural stem cells, for example, in the white matter of the cerebellum1, on neuroepithelial tissue cells, and on various other epithelial cells in the mouse embryo2. 5–10% of the neural cells found in the subventricular zone of postnatal mice have been shown to be prominin-1 positive. In the adult mouse, prominin-1 has been detected in the brain ependymal layer2, and in kidney tubules2,3.
Applications
Anti-Prominin-1 antibodies can be used to identify and enumerate prominin-1+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. This antibody is suitable for MACS® Control applications. For further details, please refer to the data sheet of the separation reagent.
