Description
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is predominantly secreted by human CD4+ T cells and antigen-presenting cells, such as monocytes/macrophages and dendritic cells. IL-10 has important suppressive functions on immune responses and is believed to be involved in the maintenance of tolerance. IL-10 blocks activation of cytokine synthesis by TH1 cells, activated monocytes, and NK cells. It can stimulate immunoglobulin production by B cells.
Applications
This Anti-IL-10 antibody has been developed for intracellular staining of IL-10 in fixed and permeabilized cells for flow cytometric analysis. Cells can be stained in suspension or by solid-phase intracellular staining technology in combination with MACS® Separation.

Figure 1
Human PBMCs were incubated with or without CytoStim for six hours. After two hours, brefeldin A was added. The cells were fixed, permeabilized, and intracellularly stained with Anti-IL-10-PE. Cells were then analyzed by flow cytometry. Plots show CD4+ lymphocytes gated according to CD4-APC staining.
