Description
Clone PJ2-22H3 detects the IgM isotype of human immunoglobulins. It reacts with the soluble as well as membrane-bound form of human IgM. IgM is the first immunoglobulin produced by B cells in the immune response. Surface IgM is expressed on immature and mature B cells, whereas IgM heavy chain is expressed intracellularly in pre-B cells. IgM serves as the antigen receptor of naive B cells and is involved in B cell maturation and complement activation. |
Applications
For the detection of human B cells expressing the IgM isotype of human immunoglobulins by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry.

Figure
Human PBMCs were stained with Anti-IgM antibodies conjugated to PE (A), APC (B), or Biotin (C) and analyzed by flow cytometry. Cells stained with Anti-IgM-Biotin were additionally stained with Anti-Biotin-PE.
