Description
The CD26 antibody recognizes the CD26 antigen, a type II transmembrane protein. CD26 is an ectoenzyme with prolyl oligopeptidase activity. It is widely expressed in various tissues. In the immune system CD26 is expressed on thymocytes, activated T cells, B cells, NK cells, and macrophages. As a costimulatory molecule, it is involved in T cell activation.
Applications
The CD26 antibody can be used to identify and enumerate CD26+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.

Figure
Human PBMCs were stained with CD26 antibodies conjugated to PE (a) or APC (b). Cells labeled with CD26-Biotin were stained with Anti-Biotin-APC (c). Cells were counterstained with CD4-FITC and analyzed by flow cytometry. A lymphocyte gate was activated based on scatter properties of the cells.
