Description
Human CD84, also known as SLAM5, is a 65–80 kDa single-chain surface glycoprotein and member of the CD2 subset of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. CD84 is expressed on granulocytes, monocytes, macrophages, B cells, platelets, antigen-presenting cells, and subsets of T cells including thymocytes and mature T cells. Homophilic ligation of CD84 or ligation with CD84 antibodies has been shown to lead to enhanced proliferation of T cells as well as IFN-γ secretion.
Applications
The antibody is suitable for identification and enumeration of CD84+ cells by flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy.

Figure 1
Human PBMCs were stained with CD84 antibodies coupled to FITC (A), PE (B), or APC (C). Cells stained with CD84-Biotin (D) were additionally stained with Anti-Biotin-PE. All samples were co-stained with CD4 antibody conjugates and then analyzed by flow cytometry.
