Description
Immunoglobulins produced by B cells are composed of two heavy and two light chains, connected by disulfide bonds. Differences in the composition of the heavy chain constant regions determine the different isotypes. The light chains of all isotypes are either of κ or λ type. Clone IS11-24D5 detects human Ig light chains of κ type. Heavy chains and light chains of the λ type are not detected. |
Applications
Identification and enumeration of human immunoglobulins with κ light chains by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.

Figure 1
Human PBMCs were stained with Anti-Igκ light chain antibodies coupled to FITC (a), PE (b) or APC (c) and analyzed by flow cytometry. Cells stained with Anti-Igκ Light Chain-Biotin were stained with Anti-Biotin-PE in addition (d).
