Description
Clone IB6 recognizes the human CD38 antigen, a single-chain type II transĀmembrane glycoprotein with enzymatic activity. It is present on the majority of hematopoietic cells, prevalently during early differentiation and activation processes. Terminally differentiated B cells (plasma cells) express CD38 brightly. Furthermore, CD38 is constitutively expressed in several tissues, for example brain, muscle, and kidney.
Applications
The CD38 antibody can be used to identify and enumerate CD38+ cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. This antibody is suitable for MACSĀ® Control applications. For further details, please refer to the datasheet of the separation reagent.

Human peripheral blood lymphocytes were stained with CD38-FITC (A), CD38-PE (B), CD38-APC (C) or CD38-Biotin (D) and analyzed by flow cytometry. Cells stained with CD38-Biotin were additionally stained with Anti-Biotin-APC.
